The first significant data regarding the Black Friday 2025 event are beginning to arrive, and they are just as spectacular as anticipated. In this case, we shall address the figures from across the Atlantic, specifically from the United States, where on November 28 alone, online spending reached $11.8 billion according to data from Adobe Analytics.
This figure exceeds by $1 billion the $10.8 billion that American consumers spent during Black Friday 2024. To determine these and other figures that we shall review below, Adobe Analytics tracks over one trillion visits to retailer websites in the United States.
Adobe has reported that total online spending recorded in the United States between November 1 and November 28 of 2025 amounted to $111.4 billion, representing a year-over-year growth of 7.1%.
Furthermore, the holiday season is far from over, and the company forecasts that a record online spending figure of $253.4 billion will be reached, in contrast to the $241.1 billion recorded in 2024.
Continuing with the predictions, Adobe estimates that Cyber Monday, which takes place today, will register $14.2 billion in sales within the United States, surpassing Black Friday itself, as reported by Reuters. Electronics is anticipated to be the product category with the deepest discounts during Cyber Monday (30% off original prices). There will also be substantial offers in the categories of apparel and computers.
Adobe has shared its projections regarding expenditure by category for this peak sales season, with all categories surpassing the results seen in 2024. Electronics commands the largest share, with a projection of $57.5 billion (compared to $55.3 billion the previous year).
Completing the top three are apparel with a projected $47.6 billion (compared to $46.6 billion in 2024) and furniture and home products with $31.1 billion (compared to $29.2 billion in 2024). These are followed by: groceries ($23.5 billion), toys ($8.8 billion), cosmetics ($8.4 billion), and sporting goods ($8.2 billion).
“Mobile devices have consolidated their dominance, and it is anticipated that 2025 will be the first full year in which mobile devices will account for more than 50% of online spending,” explains Adobe. Specifically, the company expects the share of mobile revenue to reach 56.1% this holiday season. For the time being, between November 1 and November 28, the share of mobile revenue was 52.2%.
Additionally, it is estimated that 7 out of every 10 visits to retail stores will be conducted via mobile devices. And the mobile spending forecasts during the 2025 holiday season are set at $143.7 billion.
Between November 1 and November 28, mobile payments using BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) methods represented $6.7 billion in the United States. For the entire season (from November 1 to December 31, 2025), Adobe states that $20.2 billion in BNPL payments will be recorded, marking an 11% increase over the $18.2 billion recorded in 2024.
Adobe has also taken the opportunity to analyze how artificial intelligence is shaping the way American consumers engage in their holiday shopping. After studying this phenomenon, traffic from AI tools to retail websites is expected to grow between 515% and 520% compared to data collected in 2024.
