A large number of Spanish users are reporting problems when working with ChatGPT (including a good portion of the Marketing4eCommerce editorial team). In the early stages, the company did not provide any information about it, and its status page did not show any apparent incident.
However, various websites dedicated to tracking this type of incident did reflect problems accessing and using the tool, with tasks getting stuck and remaining unresolved. Downdetector.es was logging multiple incidents from early in the morning in Spain, as was NordVPN’s page dedicated to this type of issue.

The first official news of the outage arrived shortly before 10:00 a.m., when OpenAI posted a notice on its status page covering all European users of this AI: “We are experiencing issues. Elevated error rates for ChatGPT users in Europe. We have identified that users are experiencing numerous errors across the affected services. We are working to implement a fix,” it explained.

In the absence of an official explanation of what happened, the only thing we know for certain is that there was a partial ChatGPT outage last night, involving server errors, but OpenAI marked it as resolved at 9:30 p.m.
This is not the first time ChatGPT has experienced an outage of this kind, although these are usually brief incidents with no major impact. In any case, for future occasions, remember that if you are looking for alternatives to ChatGPT, you can use Google’s Gemini, Anthropic’s Claude, or Perplexity, for example 🙂
