Alibaba, the Chinese eCommerce giant, has launched “Trade Assurance,” its new, free portfolio of protection services aimed at sellers across Europe. This initiative, available for the first time to businesses in Spain, France, Germany, and Italy, seeks to ensure a smooth and secure B2B sales experience.

Arianna Iseppi, Senior Business Development Manager for Spain at Alibaba, explained, “At Alibaba.com, our goal is to support Spanish SMEs in their growth by boosting their exports through the potential of our technology platform and the support of a local team of specialists.

Now, with the launch of Trade Assurance, we are offering a reliable and secure solution for every stage of the business transaction. This way, all Spanish companies, including the smallest ones, can take advantage of previously unimaginable global opportunities. Trade Assurance reinforces our commitment to innovative and secure digital B2B commerce, building trust between buyers and sellers in the global market.

What Alibaba’s Trade Assurance Offers

Both existing and new sellers joining Alibaba’s platform can take advantage of Trade Assurance without activation fees, though transaction and service fees may apply.

Trade Assurance provides added value through four key services that ensure comprehensive protection:

  • Payment Security: Once an order is placed using one of the trusted payment methods available (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, etc.), Alibaba processes the payment, holding funds securely until the buyer confirms delivery. This guarantees timely payments and significantly reduces the risk of non-payment, delays, and fraud.
  • Order Tracking and Transparency: Every order processed through Trade Assurance is fully monitored, allowing both buyers and sellers to easily track order status on the platform. This ensures clear, consistent communication and a smooth transaction process, minimizing delays and misunderstandings.
  • Dispute Assistance: Alibaba provides dedicated support to swiftly address any issues, maintaining high standards for product and service quality and facilitating dispute resolution, bringing peace of mind and confidence to both buyers and sellers.
  • Risk Management: Information categorization allows sellers to analyze anonymous information about buyers’ recent activities and presence on the platform. This proves valuable when making informed decisions about proceeding with an order.
