AliExpress has launched an appealing offer for U.S. sellers through its new initiative, AliExpressDirect, which removes commissions and registration fees for new sellers. This initiative is part of a strategy to attract U.S. merchants to the global market of AliExpress and expand its product offerings across various categories.

AliExpress, owned by the Chinese Alibaba Group, will not only allow brands to register without initial costs but will also cover marketing expenses, business support, and customer service, managing post-sale inquiries and disputes at no additional charge.

Support from AliExpress for local sellers

Jackie Lee, Director of Partnerships and Business Development at AliExpress, explained that the platform’s goal is to lower the entry barriers for small- and medium-sized U.S. businesses. “We want to support local businesses, and we are focused on reducing friction and risks in the integration process,” stated Lee. This initiative aims to encourage both emerging businesses and established brands to try a platform that could provide them with greater visibility and a new sales channel.

Among the U.S. companies already selling on AliExpress are The PCA Companies, a distributor of beauty products; Cre8travel, a manufacturer of cultural products; and JemJem, a distributor of refurbished goods. These cases demonstrate the platform’s potential for diverse brands, from niche products to popular consumer goods.

AliExpress and 11.11: An opportunity to capture global customers

News of the U.S. expansion coincides with preparations for Singles’ Day (11.11), AliExpress’s largest annual sale and one of the most significant eCommerce events in Asia. During this event, the site will offer discounts of up to 90% on a wide variety of products, along with an array of prizes. This year, AliExpress has introduced a “$1 Challenge” in collaboration with Klarna to demonstrate the purchasing power of just one dollar on the platform, with prizes like a PlayStation 5 and an HP computer.

AliExpress is also launching a challenge on TikTok as part of its digital marketing strategy. This challenge invites users to showcase their creativity in a dance video, competing for a daily prize of $100 in AliExpress credits. This initiative not only increases brand recognition but also generates engaging content that can go viral and attract new users.

With the zero-commission offer and operational support, AliExpress aims not only to attract sellers but also to position itself as an accessible and attractive platform for expanding international sales. Furthermore, the 11.11 event and the focus on social media platforms like TikTok highlight AliExpress’s intention to make its platform more dynamic and appealing to consumers of all ages and locations.
