Google has announced a significant upgrade to its AI-powered video generation tool, Veo 3, as well as its speed-optimized version, Veo 3 Fast. These updates not only enhance its creative capabilities but also democratize access to this type of technology by offering more affordable pricing and new features designed for a mobile-first environment.
From now on, both Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast can generate videos in vertical format (9:16), making them ideal tools for content created for social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts. This functionality can be enabled simply by setting the aspectRatio parameter to 9:16 within the generation API.
Another notable improvement is support for 1080p HD resolution, which significantly increases the quality of AI-generated videos. To enable this option, it is sufficient to specify resolution=1080p in the configuration. This positions Veo as a viable solution not only for prototypes or testing but also for commercial productions and branded content.
Both enhancements are integrated into the Gemini API, which as of today is officially declared stable and ready to support large-scale production workloads.
We have tried, and the result is amazing.
It even adds the audio of the person talking. You can choose among the four options (as a maximum) generated.
No, it is not… But how could you use it for free? Well, you can access to Google Cloud Plataform and start the free trial.
Then you must start a new project and access to Vertex AI, there you will be able to choocse among different options to try different powerful AIs from Google: Veo 3, Lyra, or Imagen 4.
You will have three months to experiment.
Alongside the improvements, Google has announced a price reduction for both versions of the model, making it more competitive compared to other solutions in the market such as Runway, Pika, or Synthesia:
This adjustment allows agencies, brands, and content platforms to explore more dynamic formats and experiment with AI-generated video without cost becoming a barrier.

The combination of vertical format, HD resolution, and lower pricing represents a key evolution in the AI-generated content sector. Marketing departments and content creators will be able to optimize video production for multiple platforms with speed, creative control, and now, enhanced quality.
Furthermore, the fact that the Gemini API is now production-ready means these capabilities can be directly integrated into eCommerce platforms, content apps, CRM tools, or automated campaigns, further expanding their impact.
