Google continues to strengthen its position in the AI market and its latest move towards this objective has been to integrate Veo 2, its most powerful video-generating AI, into Gemini. Through text prompts, users subscribed to the Gemini Advanced plan will be able to create dynamic and high-resolution visual pieces of up to 8 seconds.
In addition to this, the tech giant has also activated Veo 2 in Whisk, a creative product of Google Labs powered by generative AI, launched last December. With this update, Whisk will expand its capabilities of image creation from text and reference images, with the possibility to animate these works into videos.

Google has already begun to deploy the capabilities of Veo 2 for all Gemini Advanced users globally, both on the web and on mobile devices. This tool is available for subscribers of Google One AI Premium in all languages supported by Gemini.
To start generating videos in Gemini, you must navigate to the model selector drop-down and select “Veo 2”. Once done, you only need to write the description of the clip you wish to create, and the generative AI will return an 8-second video with a 720p resolution, in MP4 format and with a 16:9 ratio. Naturally, the more detailed your prompt, the more the final result will align with it.
It is important to note that there is a monthly limit on the number of videos you can generate with this tool, although Google has only indicated that they will notify you when you approach this limit.
According to Google, “Veo 2 represents a significant advance in video generation, designed to produce high-resolution detailed videos with cinematic realism. By better understanding the physics of the real world and human movement, it offers fluid character movement, realistic scenes, and more precise visual details in various subjects and styles.”
Furthermore, the tech company is aware that users are eager to share their creations, so it has created an option to facilitate this action on mobile devices. You only need to select the share button to upload your video to platforms like TikTok or YouTube Shorts.
Initially launched as a tool to create images using AI, Whisk is now updated with Whisk Animate, which allows converting those images into 8-second animated videos using the Veo 2 engine. This service is available for Google One AI Premium subscribers from the Whisk platform in Google Labs.
Google has implemented measures to ensure safe and ethical use of these tools. Veo 2 incorporates SynthID, an invisible digital watermark that is embedded in every frame and identifies the content as AI-generated.
Moreover, the company has conducted extensive testing to prevent the malicious use of the technology and continues to collect user feedback to enhance the experience. Although it is possible that controversial content may be generated, Google insists that the system relies on the prompts input by the user and is constantly evolving to minimize errors.
