You can now try Grok 3 for free… “until its servers melt down”

Unexpectedly, the social network owned by Elon Musk has announced the temporary availability, “until their servers melt,” of Grok 3 in free mode. Thus, the new version of X’s AI, which has caused quite a stir since its launch on the 18th, is now available for anyone to test out the tech magnate’s bold claim: “it is terrifyingly intelligent, the smartest on Earth.”

In a tweet and a blog post, the company explains that in the coming weeks, Grok 3 and Grok 3 Mini will be available through an API platform, including both standard and reasoning models. Additionally, DeepSearch will be launched for business partners through this API. Grok 3 remains in the training phase, with frequent updates expected in the coming months. The enterprise API is expected to incorporate new features such as code execution and enhanced AI agent capabilities.

How to test Grok 3 for free: we put it to the test

Testing Grok 3 is as easy as accessing its access panel within the social network. The only requirement, of course, is to log in with your X account first. From there, you simply have to let your imagination run wild.

Of course, we asked it to try to demonstrate that, as Musk claims, it is currently the smartest AI.

(By the way, as you can see, it seems that Grok is not aware that it itself is responding… and it is capable of cautiously considering the claims of its creator, which is a major point in its favor!). Aside from these tests, it is clear that Grok 3 presents itself as one of the leading generative AIs of the moment. Presented by Elon Musk and his team with the ambitious goal of “understanding the universe,” this AI has been trained with 200,000 GPUs, a significantly higher computational capacity than its predecessor, making it more powerful in reasoning and precision.

Among its innovations are Grok 3 Mini, a faster and lighter version for simple tasks, and Grok 3 Reasoning Beta along with Grok 3 Mini Reasoning, advanced search engines that investigate the internet to generate detailed reports. Up until now, its access was restricted to Premium+ subscribers of X, with an additional cost of $33 per month or $330 annually, so that will probably be the cost if Musk decides to close the free access.

Regarding its functionalities, Grok 3 allows the generation of content such as texts, scripts, and poems, translation between multiple languages, document and chart analysis, and as we have seen, create photorealistic images using the Aurora tool. Its reasoning ability has proven to be superior in tests of mathematical and scientific problem solving, surpassing models like Gemini-2 Pro, DeepSeek-V3, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and GPT-4o. It has also excelled in the GPQA test, which measures knowledge in areas like physics, biology, and chemistry. In addition, in Arena.ai, a model evaluation platform for languages, it has positioned itself as one of the most advanced AIs on the market.

As you can see, Grok 3 is committed to greater processing power, deep reasoning, and real-time access to information from the X platform.
