Even though Threads is a company that has been around for just over a year, it announced in September that it has more than 230 million active users globally each month. Business Insider reported that last month, journalist Katie Notopoulos from the outlet tried making posts on Threads designed to provoke outrage and found that these gained more traction.
Since then, Threads has been swamped with discussions about rage bait, content moderation, and political content. Adam Mosseri, the CEO of Instagram and Threads, even publicly stated that they are working to address these issues.
Business Insider spoke with Emily Dalton, the Vice President of Product Management at Meta and the person overseeing Threads. She advises users: “Making sure that discussions focus on current, timely, and relevant topics will be very beneficial.”
