StreamYard, an online platform for creating and broadcasting live content, surprised its users by notifying them of expanded functions in its subscription plans. These upgrades also involved modifications to plan features, but without affecting their prices.

“From now on, StreamYard will offer three subscription plans: Core, Advanced, and Teams. Each plan has been designed to bring more of our key features to more customers than ever,” the platform explained in an email sent to its subscribers.

StreamYard’s updates: local recording in 4K, dark mode, screen sharing in 1080p, etc.

With these updates, StreamYard aims to continuously enhance the user experience and provide an optimal, efficient solution. “By introducing these features, our goal is to give you the best software and product experience for streaming and recording. We’re excited to share more updates about our ambitious plans and upcoming features,” the platform said.

New features:

  • Dark mode: Apply dark mode to both your control panel and the broadcast to extend battery life, reduce glare, and adjust to your preference. Available on all plans.
  • Camera shapes: Personalize the shape and borders of your cameras with squares, circles, and rounded rectangles. Included in all plans.
  • Screen sharing in 1080p: Share your screen in Full HD, improved from 720p, so your viewers can enjoy every detail. Included in all plans.
  • Reusable studios: Capture multiple takes in the same studio without creating new streams, perfect for producing episodes and shows. Available on all plans.
  • Local recordings in 4K: Record videos with a much clearer, more detailed image than previous HD standards. Included in Advanced and Teams plans.

Additionally, StreamYard has expanded the capacities of its Core and Advanced plans, unlocking features that were previously unavailable. For example, Core plan users can now stream in Full HD (1080p) and benefit from up to 2 hours of pre-recorded broadcasts.

For those with the Advanced plan, up to 15 backstage participants, 4 hours of pre-recorded broadcasts, and live webinars with up to 1,000 viewers are now available.

These changes have been applied automatically, and StreamYard has upgraded each customer to their corresponding new plan, granting access to the new features without extra costs. Users who wish to change their subscription plan can easily do so through Account Settings.
