Spotify continues to strengthen its advertising ecosystem, offering new ways for brands to access its podcast ad inventory more easily and effectively. In April, during its Spotify Advance event, the leading audio streaming platform introduced important innovations for advertisers, which have now been further expanded with new options within its automated purchasing channels: Spotify Ad Exchange and Spotify Ads Manager.

Direct Access to Podcast Advertising Inventory

The company now makes it easier for brands to reach its growing audience of 170 million monthly podcast listeners, who may choose from nearly 7 million titles worldwide. To accomplish this, Spotify has integrated its inventory into two key automated purchasing channels:

On one hand, Spotify Ads Manager enables advertisers of all sizes in Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, and Italy to access directly the premium inventory in Spotify’s original and licensed podcasts, as well as the content available on Spotify Audience Network, its audio advertising marketplace.

On the other hand, Spotify Ad Exchange, designed for programmatic ad buyers, offers access to the same premium inventory via partners such as The Trade Desk and Google Display & Video 360. Furthermore, additional Demand Side Platforms, or DSPs, are expected to join soon. This option is currently available in the following key markets: Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, Brazil, and Mexico.

Broader Reach through Strategic Partnerships

Another notable development is the collaboration with Magnite, which expands the network of demand platforms granted access to Spotify Ad Exchange inventory. This partnership allows even more advertisers to benefit from the multi-format digital audio potential of the platform.

Since the announcement of Spotify Ad Exchange in April 2025, brand adoption has increased by 64 %, with successful examples including Instacart and Luxottica.

At the Spotify Beach event during Cannes Lions, Caroline Proto, Global Media Director at EssilorLuxottica, stated: “We are seeing a double-digit improvement in our cost per store visit, according to measurement by an external partner. For us, it is crucial to be able to quantify such efficiency both from a performance and cost perspective. Furthermore, this has allowed us to expand and increase our budgets on Spotify, since we are witnessing its high level of effectiveness.”

Meanwhile, Chloe Wix, Global Head of Ad Product and Commercial Growth at Spotify, remarked: “We know automation is a fundamental requirement for any advertising platform seeking to compete today. That is why we have been working on enhancing our automated purchasing channels.

As we continue to modernize our advertising technology, I am delighted to announce that our premium podcast ad inventory is now available through Spotify Ad Exchange and Spotify Ads Manager, ensuring that our advertisers possess the control and flexibility necessary to reach our highly engaged podcast listening audience.”
