Bytedance has launched a new AI video generator (yes, yet another one)
And Seedance 2.0 is generating considerable discussion. I am aware that whenever a new AI is released, it is described as “the one that will change the industry forever” or “the best so far,” but this particular version delivers quite a remarkable wow effect. It has even managed to pass the ultimate test (Will Smith eating spaghetti):

Seedance is a multimodal AI video generation model developed by Bytedance, the parent company of TikTok. While its earlier versions, 1.0 and 1.5, were already known, this latest release is the one that has truly made headlines (even though it is currently still in the testing phase).
Seedance 2.0 achieves a remarkable level of realism that has surprised everyone. In fact, the platform went viral following the circulation on X of a clip featuring an imagined live-action Dragon Ball scene generated with Seedance, initially published by a user on Douyin.

In fact, it outperforms several video-generating AIs that have been on the market for some time in certain parameters such as text-to-video, image-to-video, and multimodal.
Compared to its previous models, the improvement in generation quality is amazing, especially where other AIs tend to fail: in scenes with complex movements and interactions.
Now, the model is not only more realistic, but its physical accuracy and controllability have been pushed to the limit. The result? A tool that perfectly understands the demands of industrial production and eliminates the frustration of “artificial” results.
For a while, this new model was not available on the official Bytedance website, but several people had access to this artificial intelligence during the testing phase. In this period between the beta and the official launch, many websites appeared using its name to attract user traffic, thinking that they would be able to access this model, but this is not true. I hope that, as a good marketer, you have not fallen for this and always use the official websites.

You can make a video and “track” the exact movements made in the video onto a static image. For example, with a photo of yourself and a video of a professional dancer, you could have a video of yourself dancing like them in seconds. Its performance meets the SOTA (State of the Art) standard, ensuring realism even in the most dynamic sequences. The model facilitates the stable extension and editing of clips, giving the user complete control over the narrative and aesthetics, as if they were in the director’s chair.
Designed under a joint architecture, the system simultaneously processes up to 9 images, 3 videos, and 3 audios alongside text prompts. This allows the model to accurately integrate the composition, visual rhythm, and sound design of the reference materials.

It uses control points to ensure that even fast movements or crossed limbs are processed correctly without “melting.” As happened in the older videos of Will Smith eating spaghetti…
It can also generate footage and understand the reasoning behind scenes. It can interpret complex scripts and detailed text descriptions. Seedance 2.0 allows you to edit specific fragments, characters, or actions, and even extend existing videos.
It includes dual-channel technology for immersive effects (background music, ambiance, and parallel voiceovers).
Seedance 2.0 is available on the Chinese platforms Jimeng AI (Dreamina), Volcengine (Huoshan Fangzhou), and Doubao, which also belong to Bytedance.

Simply go to their website and log in. It is connected to CapCut, so if you have an account with Bytedance’s video editor, you can log in with that account. To do so, go to the Video Generation section and select the Seedance 2.0 model.
2. Access via the Doubao app
This is one of the most popular AIs in China. Due to regional restrictions, to use it from outside China, you will need to log in first. Once you have done so, simply select Seedance 2.0 and send your prompt.
3. Access via Volcengine (Huoshan Fangzhou)
Unsurprisingly, you also need to log in if you want to use Seedance 2.0 from this platform if you live outside China. However, this platform offers 5 million tokens to use it if you register.
Just access their experience center and choose Doubao-Seedance 2.0.

The reality is that content creation will never be the same again. Of course, the matter of using any image without consideration for copyright will need to be addressed at some point. It may seem straightforward to create a Pokémon, Dragon Ball, or Leonardo DiCaprio film given the sheer quantity of media about them online, but the question remains: will AI video generators be able to create series, films, or short films entirely from scratch and truly original that can move us emotionally?
