The advancement in AI does not cease: OpenAI has just presented GPT-4.5, an update aimed at improving the user experience with ChatGPT through advancements in unsupervised learning and greater response accuracy, making it the largest and most advanced model of the company to date. Currently, the new model is only available for Pro users, but it is expected to become available in the coming weeks to users of ChatGPT Plus and Team.
GPT-4.5 incorporates significant advancements in how it processes information and generates responses. One of the key improvements is the increase in accuracy of its responses, reducing the so-called “hallucinations”, meaning when the AI generates false or unreliable information.
To achieve this, OpenAI applied a renewed approach of unsupervised learning, enabling the model to identify patterns and understand context more deeply without depending on direct prompts. As a result, GPT-4.5 offers more natural responses, with enhanced conversational fluidity, facilitating more human interactions.
Moreover, OpenAI has worked to strengthen its capability to understand emotional nuances and respond with greater emotional intelligence, adapting the tone according to the context and the mood detected in the user’s message. This aspect is crucial in applications such as customer support, creative writing, and coaching or digital advisory tasks.
Another relevant aspect is that GPT-4.5 proves to be up to 10% more powerful in areas such as logical reasoning, mathematics, and programming, compared to GPT-4. This makes it an ideal tool for solving complex technical problems, while maintaining a smooth interaction in everyday queries.
GPT-4.5 is ready! Good news: it is the first model that feels like talking to a thoughtful person to me. Upon its release, GPT-4.5 is currently exclusively available for Pro users, who pay a subscription fee of $220 monthly. However, OpenAI has confirmed that it will soon be available to those with a Plus or Team plan, and subsequently for enterprises with ChatGPT Enterprise. The price for ChatGPT Plus is $22 monthly and currently provides access to the GPT-4 model, while the free version operates with GPT-3.5.
For those who will have access to the model, they will be able to select it directly from the model selector in the ChatGPT app, whether in its web, mobile, or desktop version.
In addition to improvements in accuracy and fluidity, OpenAI has highlighted that GPT-4.5 incorporates enhancements in security, reducing the likelihood of generating harmful or incorrect responses. The processes of supervision and fine-tuning have also been refined, integrating direct user feedback to improve response quality.
OpenAI explained that this version does not yet include multimodal features such as voice mode, video, or screen sharing, but the model is compatible with work on files and images, and it integrates a digital canvas for collaborative writing and programming.
