How to deactivate your online status on Threads

Adam Mosseri has announced new updates to Threads: now you can see if other people are online at a specific moment, as long as they have the feature activated.

How to avoid your Threads followers from knowing you are online

First, it is important to know that this feature will be activated automatically. However, you can choose who can see if you are online: everyone, your followers, followers you also follow, or no one. To choose who can see your online status, follow these steps:

1. Go to your profile.
2. Click on the three lines in the top right corner.
3. Go to “Privacy.”
4. Click on “Online status.”
5. Select the option that best suits your preferences.

Mosseri also announced the introduction of profile cards on Instagram. This is a different (and customizable) way to share your profile with others, allowing them to access it by scanning a QR code. Additionally, they will be able to see your bio and any links you have included in it.
