Meta launches Enterprise Platform to bring Muse AI and agent tools to businesses

Meta needs to monetize the vast amount of resources that it has dedicated to transforming Muse into one of its flagship products.

Meta has unveiled its new Enterprise Platform, a division designed to bring its AI-powered tools to businesses and developers around the world. In its launch announcement, Mark Zuckerberg explained that the goal of the platform is to “help businesses use AI to grow and transform in innovative ways.”

According to Zuckerberg, in this initial phase Meta’s new division will focus on offering its portfolio of technology services (Muse, Meta Business Agent, the Muse API, Muse Code…) to businesses and developers. Zuckerberg said Meta will leverage “strengths that few other companies have: advanced models, leading agents, large-scale infrastructure, and years of close work with many businesses.” To lead the effort, the company has appointed Chirantan “CJ” Desai, former CEO of database management system MongoDB, as Director of the platform.

For his part, Desai himself explained that Meta Enterprise Platform will focus on turning its suite of AI tools into products and services that businesses can deploy within their own operations. “As with Muse, security and privacy are built into Meta’s enterprise products from the outset. Our goal is to make Meta the go-to platform for businesses to scale their operations,” he wrote.

It is clear that Meta needs to monetize the enormous amount of resources it has devoted over the past two years to developing artificial intelligence tools. After the setbacks suffered with previous bets such as the metaverse, and with its smart glasses already labeled by some American consumers as “pervert glasses,” Meta’s team is looking for a bet capable of generating the necessary return. Hence the extensive list of new features unveiled just a few days ago during the Meta Connect event, all centered around Muse and packed with updates tied to its new agent, from integration into its AI glasses to new connectors with services such as Shopify.
