Several users have reported over the past few weeks that it is now possible to schedule messages within the Instagram app. This feature was introduced to avoid disturbing your friends during their downtime by allowing you to schedule messages for the following day, thereby respecting their choice to rest.
However, as a new development, Adam Mosseri has announced on his Threads profile that this feature is also being tested on Meta’s text-based platform after many months of development.
It is important to note that you cannot schedule replies to other posts. According to Instagram and Threads’ CEO, they want to ensure active and real-time conversations on the platform.
This update comes at an ideal time for Threads, as it was recently announced that the platform has reached 100 million daily active users and 300 million monthly active users.
You can schedule messages up to one month in advance. Pending messages will appear at the bottom of the chat in a banner where you can view all of them.
