Google upgrades campaign creation and management via Ask Advisor and Asset Studio

Among the new features with which Google streamlines campaign creation and management, there are also updates in analytics and Demand Gen.

At its Marketing Live 2026 event, Google unveiled a whole slate of new developments related to AI and its advertising business, including a significant number of new features and tools designed to make life easier for brands and professionals building campaigns on its platform.

After reviewing all the documentation presented, the overall impression is that it will become increasingly easier to create high-quality campaigns at scale, from start to finish.

A new Asset Studio

Google has announced a complete revamp of Asset Studio, its AI-powered creative hub, “to make it even easier to create the variety of assets needed to improve performance across Google and YouTube.” This new Asset Studio will be available to all users, although initially only in English.

In this way, professionals will be able to generate all kinds of compelling, on-brand ad assets (text, image, video) simply by entering a natural-language prompt, although they will also be able to upload all kinds of materials, in every format, to help create those elements, as you can see in the featured image of this article. Google highlights that, because it is integrated into Google Ads, Asset Studio understands the performance of previous campaigns and the brand’s goals.

In any case, this relaunch of Asset Studio also comes with greater information-processing capacity, allowing marketers to upload complete briefs, reference images, brand guidelines, and more. Next, Google’s AI will use these materials to generate and refine customized text, image, and video assets.

Finally, once all the creative assets are ready, brands will be able to run A/B tests to keep the ones that perform best.

Demand Gen campaigns

This update will also roll out globally, with no language restrictions. Demand Gen features in Google Ads are an AI-powered advertising solution designed to spark user interest and capture conversions in the mid and upper stages of the sales funnel. They replace the former Discovery Ads and are intended to compete directly with social media platforms such as Meta and TikTok through a purely visual approach that appears on YouTube, Discover, and Gmail.

Now, Google will also give them a new push in Google Maps, connecting brands with users exploring a specific area during key discovery and consideration moments in the purchase journey. In addition, Google is also going to launch the ability to integrate product videos from Merchant Center directly into Demand Gen campaigns to help retailers bring their products to life at scale.

Ask Advisor

One of the biggest new features for advertisers is Ask Advisor, a new conversational tool that will be available globally but only in English, and is designed to make it as easy as possible for sellers to understand every detail of a campaign and automate it.

Google defines it as a new unified agent built with Gemini that spans Google Ads, Google Analytics, Merchant Center, and Google Marketing Platform. “Think of it as your strategic partner, always available, connecting the dots across our products to help you save time and grow your business,” Google explains.

New analytics features

Meridian, Google’s open-source MMM (marketing mix modeling) model, will be integrated directly into Google Analytics 360 to help businesses around the world analyze multichannel and first-party data in one place. Google is also going to launch Qualified Future Conversions to help marketers measure what happens long after someone first sees their ad.

And to strengthen brands’ understanding of their presence in AI Mode and Gemini, Google is going to launch the AI Performance Insights tool in Merchant Center, although initially it will only be available in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, and the United States.

This new tool will allow brands to compare their ad share with that of similar brands across all buyer’s journeys that begin in AI Mode, AI Overviews, and the Gemini app.
