Google has leveraged the power of AI to enhance Google Shopping. The new features presented by the company have already started to roll out in the United States. Although no date has been set for their global release, being aware of them in advance is certainly an advantage.
To develop the revamped Shopping experience, the tech giant has paired the 45 billion product listings in Google Shopping Graph, its shopping data set, with the Gemini models.
The integration of AI in Shopping allows the service to display the most relevant products to match the search query and simplify the process. Now, users in the U.S. will receive an AI-generated summary that highlights the key aspects they should consider during their search, along with a curated list of selected items.
In the example provided by Google, when searching for “Men’s winter jacket for Seattle,” the AI generates a summary that points out important factors to consider before purchasing a garment suited for that climate. Below this text, recommended products are displayed, along with an explanation of why they meet your specific needs.
It will also present product types grouped into specific categories to streamline the search and provide a more organized view. If you want to explore further, you can click on the individual items.
In addition to this, the left-hand menu offers a series of dynamic filters that allow you to narrow the search according to your preferences. Whether you need a specific size, have a limited budget, or want the item as soon as possible, you can specify these in the filters. Furthermore, Google Shopping has introduced a new virtual try-on feature powered by AI and generative augmented reality tools.
Another new feature is present on the Google Shopping homepage, which now displays a personalized feed with a selection of products curated based on your tastes and preferences. To access your feed, you simply need to click on the Google Shopping logo or visit “shopping.google.com.”
If you wish to disable or manage these personalized results, you can do so by accessing the Shopping menu and selecting the “Shopping preferences” option located at the bottom of the page.
Additionally, Google recognizes that purchasing decisions take time and consideration, so it allows you to resume your search right where you left off during your previous visit.
In addition to integrating tools for deal searches, comparisons, information, and price tracking, Google Shopping now features a new personalized deals page. This page is tailored to show users the best offers based on their preferences and past browsing behavior, making it easier to find relevant discounts and promotions.
To access it and start discovering the promotions that best suit you, simply click on the “Deals” option located at the top of the page. This will lead you to a personalized selection of offers, helping you find discounts tailored to your preferences.
