Google has announced the launch of Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image), its new state-of-the-art model for image generation and editing. This introduction arrives just a few months after the release of the Nano Banana (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image) model, which had already established a new standard for creative editing.

Nano Banana Pro is built upon the foundational Gemini 3 Pro model, and seeks to capitalize on Gemini’s advanced reasoning and real-world knowledge to deliver enhanced visualization capabilities. According to Google, the model is designed to bridge the gap between concept and creation, allowing users to visualize any idea or design, from prototypes to complex data representations.

1. Educational explanations and infographics

One of Nano Banana Pro’s major innovations is its ability to generate images with greater accuracy and richer context. The model not only creates aesthetic visuals, but also informative ones.

Thanks to Gemini 3’s reasoning capabilities, it can produce useful content, such as educational explanations, infographics, and diagrams based on user-provided content or real-world data.

In addition, Nano Banana Pro connects to the knowledge base of Google Search, which allows it to visualize real-time information, such as weather forecasts or sports results, or generate a quick visual summary for a recipe.

2. Multilingual creative content

The new model stands out for its superior ability to integrate precise and legible text directly into images. This is essential for creating mockups, posters, and graphic designs, as Nano Banana Pro handles a wide variety of textures, fonts, and calligraphy styles. Leveraging the multilingual reasoning abilities of Gemini, the model can generate text in multiple languages, or even localize and translate content within an image—a key function for international expansion and communication.

3. Consistent images from multiple input elements

Nano Banana Pro introduces creative control tools which, according to Google, deliver studio-quality results. The model improves design consistency, allowing users to combine up to 14 input elements and maintain the likeness and uniformity of up to five people within a complex composition.

4. Angle, focus, and resolution controls

The new capabilities include advanced creative controls that are placed directly in the hands of the user:

  • Editing: Allows for the selection, refinement, and transformation of specific parts of an image.
  • Scene controls: Users can adjust the camera angle, modify focus and depth of field, apply color grading, and transform scene lighting (for example, changing illumination from day to night).
  • Resolution: Creations are available in 2K and 4K resolutions, ready for any platform—from social media to professional printing.

How and when can you use Nano Banana Pro?

The rollout of Nano Banana Pro is gradual and prioritizes users of the Gemini app, where they will be able to access the most powerful model by selecting the ‘Thinking’ mode. Google manages the usage of the high-capacity model through a quota system: free users are granted a limited number of uses, after which they revert to the original Nano Banana model, while subscribers to premium plans (Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra) receive higher quotas to use the advanced features of Nano Banana Pro more frequently.

At the professional level, according to Google, the model is enhancing image generation in Google Ads and is being implemented for Workspace customers in Google Slides and Vids. For developers and enterprises, it is beginning to roll out in the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, and will soon be available in Vertex AI.

Furthermore, Google reiterates its commitment to transparency by ensuring that all content generated by Nano Banana Pro is embedded with the imperceptible SynthID digital watermark. In addition, a verification tool has been made available to consumers, enabling users to upload an image in the Gemini app and ask whether it was generated by Google AI, using SynthID technology for authentication.
