Google has just taken a significant step forward in its mission to revolutionize Search by officially launching Search Live in English in the United States. Until now, this interactive real-time search feature powered by its AI Mode was only available to United States-based users enrolled in the AI Mode Labs experiment.

The technology company enabled Search Live testing in Google Labs at the end of July, while also announcing a series of additional updates for AI Mode. Search Live combines the capabilities of Google Lens and AI Mode to provide a real-time conversational search experience using your phone’s camera and your own voice.
United States-based users may now take advantage of this feature in English from the Google app, both on Android and iOS. There are two ways to access Search Live: through Google or through Google Lens.
As soon as you activate Search Live from either of these services, you will be able to share with the AI whatever you focus on with your phone’s camera and ask questions using your voice in order to obtain real-time information. The tool will respond to you via AI-generated audio responses and will also provide selected links so you can delve further into its sources.
To assist its users in getting familiar with Search Live and demonstrate the ways it can support them in daily life, Google has provided a series of use cases.
Search Live can be an extremely useful travel companion. For example, if you are preparing in your hotel room and want to know details about the places you plan to visit, you can activate this feature and converse with the AI while you finish getting ready, conveniently and without the need to type anything.
Another interesting option is to use it to focus your camera on a monument and request live information, as if it were your own personal guide.
Imagine you have decided to try that recipe you have been eager to prepare, but you encounter some doubts during the process. Activate Search Live, point at the ingredients and kitchen utensils, and ask Google’s AI to assist you as you go along.
