Claude Cowork goes mobile: launch agentic workflows at your desk, track them on the go

To bolster the launch, Anthropic has announced that it will double Cowork usage credits through August 5, 2026.

The artificial intelligence ecosystem continues to evolve, moving beyond simple question-and-answer chatbots toward truly autonomous assistants. In this context, Anthropic has announced that Claude Cowork, its AI agent tool, is now available in mobile and web versions, allowing complex tasks to keep running in the background, no matter which device you use.

This update marks an important shift in day-to-day productivity: from now on, you can delegate a task on your computer, close the lid to head into a meeting, and review the final result from your smartphone.

What you can use Claude Cowork for

When we think about AI agents, software development often comes to mind. However, Anthropic’s data reveals a very different reality in the corporate environment: more than 90% of Claude Cowork usage is not related to programming.

Instead, half of its usage is concentrated in marketing, content creation, and business operations. It is what the company calls “the work around the work”: demanding but necessary tasks that consume a large portion of the workday.

Real-world use cases:

  • Reconciling quarterly expenses and drafting financial reports.
  • Turning folders full of contracts into a renewal dashboard with risk alerts.
  • Creating a client presentation by combining call transcripts and lead generation data.

What is new

Until now, Cowork sessions were limited to the desktop application. With this rollout (which will arrive gradually over the coming weeks, starting with users on the Max plan), these are the changes on the way:

  • You can start a complex process at the office, monitor its progress from your phone on the train, and finish it at home.
  • Background execution and scheduled tasks: You no longer need to keep your device turned on. You can schedule Claude at 6:00 AM to analyze email threads and industry news, prepare a press briefing, and leave you with an email draft ready to review while you drink your coffee.
  • Real-time human oversight (Human-in-the-loop): The AI does not make critical decisions blindly. If Claude needs approval or an important clarification, it will send a notification to your phone. Nothing gets published or sent without your sign-off.

In addition to mobility, Anthropic has also taken the opportunity to redesign the user experience on web and desktop. Now, the traditional chat interface and Cowork agents share a single common space, making it easier for your projects and artifacts (generated documents) to coexist in the same place. Desktop, however, will remain the home for deeper work that requires native interaction with local files or the browser.

To encourage digital business and marketing professionals to test this tool’s potential, Anthropic has announced that it will double Cowork usage limits through August 5. It is an opportunity to automate those processes that eat up your time and discover how delegated AI can fit into your daily workflow.
