Adobe has taken a decisive step in the world of digital creativity with the launch of the new version of Firefly, an all-in-one platform designed to revolutionize the way creators generate content. Presented at the Adobe MAX London 2025 conference, the update of Firefly integrates its state-of-the-art AI to facilitate the creation of images, videos, vectors, and audio with exceptional creative control.

In addition, Adobe has also taken the opportunity to announce the new models from the Firefly family, which are already available on its revamped platform. These include: Firefly Image Model 4 for creating realistic images; Firefly Image Model 4 Ultra, specialized in detail and complex creations; and Firefly Video Model, which generates footage from textual prompts and images with superior creative control.

These innovations and their integration into the new platform promise to transform creative processes for both professionals and businesses, simplifying complex tasks and accelerating workflow. Adobe’s Firefly model family has already been used to generate over 24.2 billion assets worldwide, including images and videos.

David Wadhwani, president of Adobe Digital Media, stated: «With Firefly, we set out to transform the experience of creators by bringing together the generation of images, videos, audios, and vectors in a single place for AI-assisted creativity. The new Firefly models and the integration of partner models offer our users the maximum flexibility when bringing their visions to life».

Firefly: a comprehensive solution for content creation

What sets Firefly apart is its ability to integrate advanced AI models from Adobe, along with powerful collaborations with Google Cloud and OpenAI. This combination allows creators to explore and experiment with different visual styles, all within a single ecosystem.

Users can generate visual content, from images to videos and audios, without needing to switch platforms. Firefly is fully integrated with Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Express, and other Adobe creative applications, and offers AI-driven assistance at every stage of the content creation process, from ideation to production.

Tools that facilitate creation

Among the most notable new features is the Firefly Image Model 4, which allows for the creation of photographic quality images with resolutions up to 2k. On the other hand, with the Firefly Image Model 4 Ultra, it is possible to generate complex scenes with an impressive level of detail. These tools not only improve quality but also offer creators total control over the style and structure of their projects.

One of Firefly’s major advancements is the incorporation of a Firefly Video model, which enables the creation of high-definition (1080p) videos from text or images. With this AI, creators can adjust aspects such as camera angles, transitions, and atmospheric effects. This greatly simplifies visual content production. It is worth noting that this is a video model that is intellectual property (IP) friendly and ready for industry production.

Additionally, Firefly introduces the Text-to-Vector model, which converts simple textual descriptions into fully editable vectors. This allows designers to quickly and efficiently create logos, icons, or complex patterns, eliminating the need for laborious manual design.

Firefly has also introduced Firefly Boards, a tool that is currently in public beta. This new resource is designed to facilitate collaboration in the ideation phase, allowing creators to explore different concepts, moodboards, and variations before starting production.

Through an intuitive interface, users can experiment with multiple styles and adjust their visual projects quickly, which is very useful for creative teams looking to quickly align on an idea before executing the final production.

Strategic partnerships and advanced AI models

The collaboration with OpenAI and Google Cloud not only enhances Firefly’s capabilities but also provides users with the ability to choose between different AI models, adapting to their creative needs. Additionally, Firefly maintains a level of transparency, allowing users to know exactly which AI model is being used at each stage of the creation process.

This way, users can work with OpenAI’s image generation capabilities, with Image 3 and Veo 2 from Google, and with Flux 1.1 Pro. In addition, Adobe has announced that, in the coming months, it will integrate models from other partners like fal.ai, Ideogram, Luma, Pika, and Runway.

Kevin Weil, Chief Product Officer of OpenAI, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration: «We are delighted to work with Adobe to bring OpenAI’s image generation capabilities to their creators. Now, even more people will be able to create consistent and contextual images using the Adobe Creative Suite they already know and use, opening up more ways to share ideas visually».

For businesses and organizations, Firefly offers solutions such as Firefly Services, which provides generative AI and creative APIs for repetitive tasks like the adaptation of assets to different sizes or formats, which significantly optimizes workflows in corporate environments. Companies such as Accenture, dentsu, Gatorade/PepsiCo, and The Estée Lauder Companies are already using the platform to automate processes and accelerate large-scale content production.
